The
Canadian Pacific Railway
The Web site for the Canadian Pacific Railway Archives
is perhaps the most comprehensive look at the history of the CPR in Canada.
The site offers a collection of the CPR's paintings, photographs, maps,
logos, and cartoons throughout the company's history. In addition, it
includes photographs and information about the CPR's shipping business.
The site gives students the opportunity to understand the significance
of the railway in the history and development of many regions of Canada.
A
Historical Perspective on the North
The Ontario Ministry of Northern Development provides an excellent Web
site for investigating the Canadian Shield in Ontario. To get a fuller
picture, encourage students to explore all of the pages at this site.
Students should also search other provincial and territorial Web sites
for information about transportation in the Canadian Shield.
