## Lesson 4 - Creating Addition Stories

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Creating Addition Stories, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Create and solve addition story problems.

### Instructions for Use

Little Animals Activity Centre, Addition lets students solve story problems.

To use Little Animals Activity Centre, Addition, count the spots on the back of the ladybirds and choose the right number to complete the sum.

Count Us In - Game 7 lets students solve story problems.

To use Count Us In - Game 7, the bus number says how many children should be on the bus. Click and drag the child in different ways. For example, 3 on the top row and 1 on the bottom row, or 2 on the top row and 2 on the bottom row. When they are sitting down, click the "Check Number" button to make the bus go. If there are too many children, click on anyone sitting to make them stand up again.

Paint Brush Math lets students create and solve addition story problems.

To use Paint Brush Math, answer the equations using the paint numbers in the palette. Click on a number in the palette and match it with the correct equation in the picture. If the answer is correct the part of the picture fill with the colour.

Pole Climber lets students describe and act out addition story problems.

To use Pole Climber, click on the level of difficulty, and click the "Go" button. An equation will appear. Answer the equation to let the pole climber climb up the pole. Try to answer the questions quickly or the pole climber will slip down.
