## Lesson 5 - Using Ordinal Numbers

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Using Ordinal Numbers, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

### Goal

Use ordinal numbers to 10th to describe positions.

### Instructions for Use

Squigly's Apples lets students practice finding ordinal numbers to 10th.

To use Squigly's Apples, have students locate Squigly in the line of apples. Count the number of apples from the left and answer the question, "Where is Squigly?" by clicking on the ordinal number. Click the "Next" button for a new question.

Ordinal Numbers prompts students to use ordinal numbers to describe positions.

To use Ordinal Numbers, click on a child or balloon to move it into the car. A yellow outline indicates which cars need to be filled. Repeat this until all the children have been placed in cars. Click the "play again" button to for different number combinations.

Ordinal Number Races lets students use ordinal numbers to describe positions.

To use Ordinal Number Races, click on an image to choose a race. Read the description and drag the animal or person to the correct place. Click the "Check Answer" button to see if the answers are correct. Click the "View Answer" button for the correct answers. Click the "Forward" button to see how the race continues. Read the description and drag the animal or person to the correct place. Click the "Check Answer" button to see if the answers are correct. Click the "View Answer" button for the correct answers. Find out who wins the race and match each rosette to the correct animal or person.
