OUR MISSION

Nelson's mission is to support the success of Canadian students. We are proud to recognize and celebrate the contributions of students who have gone the extra mile for their communities.

 

INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIP

Nelson's Indigenous Student Scholarships supports First Nation, Métis and Inuit student leaders in achieving their educational goals. Three $3000 scholarships will be awarded to students who have demonstrated academic success, personal strength, and a commitment to preserving Indigenous languages and culture.

All Indigenous students, outside Québec, who are completing their final year of high school and are making a difference in their community.

whaticon  WHAT IS REQUIRED?

All Applicants

  • Completed online application form
  • 500-750 word essay detailing your leadership and preservation of indigenous language/culture
  • Minimum 80% average in final year of high school
  • A reference letter from a high school teacher or elder

Finalists

  • High school transcripts
  • An additional reference letter from someone in your community
  • Letter of acceptance to a Canadian post-secondary program of study

Scholarship Recipients

  • Proof of tuition payment (first installment)
