Welcome to the Nelson Science and Technology Perspectives Trial Kit Program!

Thank you to the schools, teachers, and students that participated in the Nelson Science & Technology Perspectives trial kit program.  The program involved 46 school boards, 575 schools, and over 30,000 students.

Here are some quick facts:

  • 96% of teachers agreed that the student resource engaged their students
  • 96% of teachers agreed that STSE was effectively integrated
  • 97% of teachers felt the resource offered practical strategies for cross-curricular literacy
  • 97% of teachers felt the resource gave them options to differentiate instruction

Here is what some teachers had to say:

"Compared to other publishers of science materials, I found yours to be much more engaging for students; lots of colorful visuals, interesting connections to the outside world, not too word dense but good integration of scientific vocabulary, and emphasis on hands on learning. The visuals (photographs, diagrams, cartoons etc.) are great for visual learners. Covers the provincial curriculum expectations really well."

"The resources are excellent for teachers who are new to teaching Science and Technology for the first time."

"Easy to use, in line with the Ontario Curriculum and relevant to today's society."

"I enjoyed using it as much as the students--it was far better suited to the age and developmental stage of the students, and I really love being able to integrate literacy into the science."
