These sites will let you find out more about
daily life in Tunisia, Peru, India, Ukraine, and Canada. Using these
sites, you will be able to compare certain quality of life factors
for two or more nations. Some factors to research are:
- number of telephones
- number of Internet users
- how much electricity people use
- number of highways
- number of airports

find excellent information about communication and transportation
on this site.

search for some factors that are not included on the other site.

- To learn more about how well transportation and communication
needs are met in communities in India, Peru, Tunisia, Ukraine,
and Canada, go to the United Nations CyberSchool Bus: InfoNation
Web site. Your teacher will help you do the following activity.
- Click on InfoNation Basic on the left side of the screen.
- Select Canada from the list of countries for the first
Select a Country box.
Select India
from the list of countries for the next Select a Country
box.
Select Peru from
the list of countries for the next Select a Country box.
Select Tunisia from
the list of countries for the next Select a Country box.
Select Ukraine from
the list of countries for the next Select a Country box.
- Click on the Go button. The names of the countries now appear
on the bottom axis of all the graphs.

At the first graph, choose
"Technology" from the "Select a category" menu. Then choose
"motor vehicles" from the "Select a statistic" menu. The bar
graph will now show the number of motor vehicles in each country.
At the second graph,
choose "Technology" then "telephone lines." The bar graph will
now show the number of telephone lines in each country.
At the third graph, choose
"Technology" then "internet users." The bar graph will now show
the number of Internet users in each country.
At the fourth graph,
choose "Technology" then "television receivers." The bar graph
will now show the number of televisions in each country.
At the fifth graph, choose
"Technology" then "newspaper circulation." The bar graph will
now show the number of newspapers delivered in each country.
- When you have collected the information, work with a
partner to write a summary statement
for each country.
