The Real Levitation   Page (489, #10 )

The University of Nijmegen faculty of Science Mathematics and Computing Science has an excellent site on diamagnetic levitation. This site includes theory, movies and photographs with detailed explanations of the concepts. Windows Media Player is required to view the videos.

Magnetic Levitation and 3D Imaging   Page (489, #10 )

Martin Simon of the UCLA Physics Department describes diamagnetic "Levitation and levitating a magnet with fingers". Click on the various links to see detailed explanations of the phenomenon. The site includes a link to a Nature article on Magnetic Levitation at your fingertips (within the text). Another link leads to a website called "The Frog that Learned to Fly" (click on "suspension of living things such as frogs") which has Window's Media movies on different levitating objects - this site has both a complicated and a simple explanation as to what is happening.

Paramagnetic Oxygen Analysis   Page (489, #10 )

From Servomex, a company dealing with paramagnetic technology, a description of the various products they make and how they work. See especially "Technology", then "Paramagnetic" for information on a Paramagnetic Torque balance, complete with illustrated steps on how it works.
