Tracking and Position

Search for peregrine falcons.

  1. What is the longest daily flight by a peregrine falcon that any biologist has listed?
  2. Peregrine falcons dive at very high speed to catch prey — such as pigeons or ducks — in midair. In a full dive they may be the fastest moving living things. Find the maximum diving speed of these birds.

Project Track 'em, Canadian Peregrine Foundation, tracks juvenile peregrine falcons.

Peregrine Falcon Information Centre, McGill Univeristy, Quebec, has a lot of information on the behaviour of these birds.

Peregraine Falcons, Environment Canada, presents a good overview on this bird.

Peregrine Falcons — Fastest Birds in the Air, About.com Network, is a small, but informative site.
