The C-TSA mode comparison search is based upon a composite Search Filter profile that is automatically derived from all occupation titles that you add to the Work History for a given Client File.

Profile saves unadjusted Work History Search Filters in an xml file that carries the extension '_UNADJ.xml'. Any changes or adjustments you make to Work History Search Filter settings are saved in a separate xml file that is given the extension '_ADJ.xml'.

Profile uses the adjusted Work History Search Filter profile during the comparison search.

The unadjusted composite Search Filter profile is derived according to the following rules:

  1. Aptitude Levels

Only aptitude levels that are considered significant to satisfactory performance in an occupation (Major Aptitudes) are taken from the NOC CH qualifications profile associated with each occupation title in the Work History. The composite aptitude level profile that results from this process contains only the highest ranking significant aptitude factor levels that have been detected in all occupation titles in the Work History. Aptitude factor levels that are not significant for any occupation title in the Work History are assigned a 0 (zero) level, and are ignored during the comparison search.

To change one or more composite aptitude levels, either click inside an aptitude level field, or choose the Select Aptitude Levels item under the Search Filters menu.

  1. Data, People, Things (DPT)

The composite DPT rating reflects the highest rating on each factor that is detected from all occupation titles in the Work History. Thus, the DPT composite Search Filter represents the highest complexity level on each factor.

  1. Education/Training Indicators

All Education/Training Indicators associated with each occupation title in the Work History are present in this composite Search Filter.

  1. Interests

Profile does not attempt to derive a composite interest profile. You can however add an interest code to the adjusted Search Filters profile.

  1. Wage

The average hourly Wage figure that is derived from the Work History, is the highest one detected in all titles comprising the Work History. Hourly Wage data is taken from the most recent release of the HRDC publication Job Futures. Not all NOC CH occupation titles have a Wage entry.

The Wage figure that appears on the screen following completion of a Work History cannot be directly used in the comparison search. To use average hourly wage in the comparison search, you must click on the underlined Wage label, and then select the lower and upper limits of a Wage range from the dialog box that appears. The Wage range you select will participate in the comparison search if you leave it activated.

  1. Employment Prospects

Employment Prospects to the year 2007 are taken from the HRDC publication Job Futures. Not all NOC CH occupation titles have an associated Employment Prospects rating.

Profile does not derive a composite Employment Prospects rating. To include one or more Employment Prospects ratings in the composite Search Filter profile, click on the underlined Employment Prospects to 2007 label and choose ratings from the dialog box that appears. You can choose one or more ratings that are identified as Limited, Fair, or Good.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

  1. Colour Discrimination

If a Colour Discrimination rating of 1 (Relevant) is detected in the Work History, then that rating will be applied. If all Colour Discrimination ratings in the Work History are 0 (Not relevant), then that rating will apply.

  1. Vision

All distinct Vision ratings found in the Work History will be selected for this Search Filter.

  1. Hearing

All distinct Hearing ratings found in the Work History will be selected for this Search Filter.

  1. Strength

The most physically demanding, i.e., the numerically highest Strength rating found in the Work History will be selected. During the comparison search in C-TSA mode, the Strength rating will default to a Hierarchical Search Filter. Consequently, occupation titles sharing the Strength rating from the Work History, and all those associated with a less demanding Strength rating, can be selected. You can however change the action of the Strength Search Filter from Hierarchical to Specific using the Strength Search Filter dialog box.

  1. Body Position

All Body Position levels associated with all occupation titles in the Work History will be selected for this composite Search Filter.

  1. Limb Co-ordination

All Limb Co-ordination levels associated with all occupation titles in the Work History will be selected for this composite Search Filter.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  1. Discomforts

All Discomforts descriptors associated with all occupation titles in the Work History will be selected for this composite Search Filter.

  1. Hazards

All Hazards descriptors associated with all occupation titles in the Work History will be selected for this composite Search Filter.

  1. Location

All Location descriptors associated with all occupation titles in the Work History will be selected for this composite Search Filter.
