Author Biography

MADELINE DENNIS

Madeline Dennis is Co-President of OABEC, the Ontario Association of Business Educators Co-ordinators, and a Business Studies and Co-operative Education teacher with the Toronto District School Board. Madeline is currently at L’Amoreaux Collegiate Institute, piloting an Entrepreneurial Partnership Venture between the Toronto District School Board and Sunnybrook & Women’s College Hospital to facilitate Co-operative Education.

Previously, Madeline acted as Coordinator of Business Studies for the Toronto District School Board East Office from 1998 to 2000, and Project Manager for the writing of all business studies profiles for grades 9 and 10 for the Ontario Ministry of Education. Madeline has been involved in the Business Studies Examplars Project, and acted as project manager of the writing team for the supplement to the Introduction to Business course profile produced for the Toronto District School Board.

Madeline has been invited to present to Business Studies teachers across the province on a variety of topics ranging from independent research, assessment and evaluation, the new curriculum, and entrepreneurship. Madeline works with the Staff Development team at the Toronto District School board to train and mentor new teachers. Madeline has a long history of innovation, starting with the founding of DECA in Canada in 1978.
