Author Biography

LORI CRANSON

As Vice President, Program, The Learning Partnership Lori Cranson is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all Learning Partnership programs.

Prior to joining the start-up team at The Learning Partnership in 1993, Lori was an educator with the Scarborough Board of Education for twenty-one years. At the Scarborough Board, Lori was instrumental in introducing cooperative learning across the curriculum, as well as desktop publishing and entrepreneurship curriculums. Lori founded and provided program direction for the Scarborough Venture Centre, an entrepreneurship program in which secondary students start their own ventures and earn credits towards a diploma. Lori is the author of Managing For Excellence, An Introduction to Canadian Business and Demystifying Thinking: A Practical Handbook for Teachers, and numerous articles on cooperative learning, thinking skills, entrepreneurship, and partnerships. In addition, Lori was the lead writer for the Ministry of Education's Introduction to Business course profile. She is a director of the Canadian Foundation For Economic Education, and a judge for the Canadian Women Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
