Some of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights are in Canada's Arctic. Find out more about this unique northern phenomenon at the Northern Lights Centre in Watson Lake, Yukon.
If you are looking for adventure travel or a trip to learn about the cultures of the north, this should be your first stop. The Web site has detailed information about adventure and cultural travel in Yukon.

1. You are planning a trip to Yukon. Click here to download an organizer to help you with your research. 2. Visit the Tour Yukon Web site, and then click on the "Adventure Travel" link. Read through the choices of summer and winter activities, and then choose one summer activity, and one winter activity. List them on your organizer and describe each activity. 3. Read through the choices of outdoor events. Choose one, and add it to your organizer. 4. Then navigate back to the Tour Yukon home page. This time, click on "Cultural Travel" . Read through the many choices of activities, and pick two that you would like to visit. Then click on the "museum location map" icon on the left side of the Cultural Travel page. Investigate what each of the 9 museum locations offers to visitors. Choose one museum to add to your itinerary. 5. Finally, return to the Tour Yukon home page, and click on "Road Travel," and then "scenic drives." Eight different scenic drives are described. Choose one that you would like to take. 6. Click here to download a map of Yukon. On your map, label the places you have chosen to travel. You will need five coloured pencils. Use one colour for winter events, one colour for summer events, one colour for attractions, and one colour for the museum you chose. Then, using a different coloured pencil,sketch in your scenic driving route. Remember to include a legend, and to give your map a title. 7. Post your map on a bulletin board. |
