?_Geography Problem-Solution Chart and Role Play
 

In this activity you will complete a Problem-Solution Chart to summarize why Ontario joined Confederation.

1. Visit the Confederation for Kids Web site.

2. Click on "Prelude" on the menu bar running down the left-hand side of the

    page. Read the information in this section

3. Then click on " Provinces" on the menu.

4. Select " Ontario" from the list of provinces and read about why Ontario

    entered Confederation.

5. Complete a Problem-Solution Chart to record your findings about why

    Ontario joined Confederation. Click here to download a problem-solution

    chart. Use three categories to classify problems: (1) Political, (2)

    Economic, and (3) Military.

6. In pairs, create a role play in which Sir John A. Macdonald explains to

   someone why Confederation is a good idea.
