The Group of Seven and Their Contemporaries
The artists who made up The Group of Seven are famous for capturing the spirit of Canada in their paintings. They made a lasting impression on the people of central Canada through their artistic expressions of a Canadian identity. Many of their paintings are on display at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario. This site provides a brief overview of the artists and their works.

They are places of profound importance to our nation, its history, and our understanding of Canada-and they're also fun to visit!

1. Visit the Parks Canada Web site.
2. Click the " National Historic Sites of Canada" in the middle of the page, and then go to " Ontario" . When the list opens under Ontario, explore the different sites to find out where they are, what they look like, and what you can do there. Click here to download an organizer to help you collect your information . 3. Choose one site that you would be interested in visiting. Using information from the site, create a 30-second radio commercial. Your goal is to have your listeners want to visit, too! 4. Write your commercial, and then present it to your class as if they were hearing it on radio. |
