What do the Numbers Mean? |
The personal story on this Web page follows up information on page 14-16 of InfoCanada Nunavut . It gives a very personal point of view to the impact of government involvement in the lives of the Inuit. This story would make an excellent beginning for a class discussion of the underlying reasons for the creation of an Inuit territory.
The government of Nunavut is just building this Web site. It will be the official statistics Web site for the government once it is completed. It does provide an excellent summary of the 2001 census data. It's already a great resource and much easier to navigate than the Statscan Web site!
