Explore this government Web site to find out about Canada's newest-and biggest-territory. Explore the links to discover who Nunavut's premier is, what the symbols on the Nunavut flag mean, and to play the Nunavut game!

New Territory of Nunavut

This is the Web site of The Nunavut Handbook , published in 1999. It has information on everything to do with Nunavut! There are lots of links and photos to check out. You can find out what there is to see and do in Nunavut, and then send a virtual postcard.

1. Visit the New Territory of Nunavut Web site.

2. Click on "Territory" on the menu bar across the top of the page, and then

    click on "The New Territory" of Nunavut. Read the article carefully.

3. Create a timeline of important events. You can decide how many dates to

    include, but you should have at least 5 and no more than 9. Model your

    timeline on the one on page 11 of InfoCanada Nunavut. Click here to   

   download a worksheet on which to collect your information.

4. When you're finished, choose a partner and read each other's timeline.

    Talk about any differences in the dates you each decided to include. Are

    some dates more important than others? Why or why not? If you wish,

    modify your timeline.
