The Red River  

The Red River in Manitoba is well known for its tendency to flood. This site contains general information about the Red River, its flood problems and flood disasters. Images of the river are also included. Students could use this site to research and write a report about this famous Manitoba waterway.

Land and Fresh Water Area  

The chart provided at this Statistics Canada Web site provides data on the land and freshwater areas in Manitoba and the other Canadian provinces and territories. Students can use the chart to make comparisons among the different regions of the country.
