At the Manitoba Hydro Web site students can find information about the power generating stations, customer service programs, environmental programs, and an illustrated description of how electricity is produced. They can learn about the history of Manitoba Hydro and in the "Learning Zone" they'll find lots of information about electricity, how it affects our lives, and electrical safety. There are even interactive games about electricity. Select Learning Zone from the "Quick Links" menu at the top of the page.
Manitoba has a varied and active economy. This Web site presents the key areas of strength and growth for Manitoba's economy. Each industry summary provides a quick reference about the size of the sector, its dominant activities, the key companies working in it, and the highlights and trends related to the industry.

Teachers may want to assign specific industries so that all sectors are covered. Web reports are structured the same way, but the amount of information available for different industries varies widely. Discussing the structure of the information presented as well as ensuring that students are familiar with vocabulary used at the site will be helpful for some students.
