Green
Ontario
One of the most important environmental issues
in the Great Lakes Lowland involves the Oakridges Moraine. This Web site,
produced by Green Ontario, introduces students to this issue. It includes
an excellent map as well as an explanation of the moraine and its features.
Since the reading level may be challenging for some students, you might
want to use this site as part of a reading and vocabulary exercise.
The
Bruce Trail
The Bruce Trail Association is a voluntary organization
formed to preserve the land along the Niagara Escarpment. It is an excellent
example of citizenship in action as it demonstrates people working together
to preserve the environment. At this Web site, students can view a map
of the trail and photographs in the image gallery.
