The
Weather Office
Since weather is current and constantly changing,
it is an excellent way to make geography relevant to students. The Weather
Office site from Environment Canada provides a map of current weather
systems for North America. Students can access information for specific
regions, such as the Great Lakes Lowland. They can also get the five-day
forecast and view radar and satellite images.
Weather
Winners
This site from Environment Canada provides information
about Canadian weather records. You can find out which cities are the
"winners" in several categories, such as the wettest, the driest, the
coldest, and the hottest. There are also categories such as "most typical
Canadian cities" and "most comfortable cities." Students can search for
weather records in the Great Lakes Lowland region by city or by weather
topic.
