Parks
Canada
The Parks Canada Web site provides links to all
of Canada's national parks, by province and territory. In Quebec, students
can find out more about La Mauricie National Park. They can also look
for other national parks in the Canadian Shield through the Saskatchewan,
Manitoba, Ontario, and Northwest Territories links. The site also provides
a Teacher Guide section with ongoing activities, programs, and competitions.
Northern
Wilderness
The Web site by Ontario Tourism is an excellent source of information
about northern Ontario. Links include destination information, travel
guides, postcards and images, and vacation ideas. Encourage students to
visit the tourism Web sites for the other provinces and territories that
make up the Canadian Shield to find similar information about traveling
in those parts of the Shield.
