Web Links

The Mi'kmaq

The Mi'kmaq have lived in the Appalachian region for thousands of years. This Web site by the Nova Scotia Museum provides an easy-to-read fact sheet about the Mi'kmaq. You can learn about their housing, clothing, transportation, language, and pastimes. Look for similar Web sites about Aboriginal peoples produced by the other provinces in the region.

Indian and Northern Affairs

If you want to learn about the Aboriginal peoples of the Appalachian region, this site is a good place to start. Go to Kids' Stop. You'll find links to fact sheets, games, and other resources about Aboriginal peoples across Canada.
