Instructions for Use

Create a Graph lets your child make a broken-line graph using appropriate intervals for the range of data collected.

To use Create a Graph, type in the title of the graph, and the horizontal and vertical titles. Calculate the number of points needed for the graph. Type the name, value, and colour. Choose the 3-D option, graph direction, and graph size. Click 'Create Printable Graph' to see the results.

Line Graphs is an interactive activity that allows your child to use a broken line graph to identify trends.

To use Line Graphs, click the 'Data' button and select a topic. A line graph appears on the workspace. Click the button with two yellow bars to see the data in chart form. To change the data using the pre-selected topics, click the red square on the graph and drag it to another location. The data in the chart will then reflect the change on the graph. To change the range on the vertical axis, click the numeric button, beside the 'Data' button. Use the up arrow to increase the range on the y-axis, and the down arrow to decrease the range on the y-axis. To change the range on the horizontal axis, click the numeric button within the chart. Use the up arrow to increase the range on the x-axis, and the down arrow to decrease the range on the x-axis.

To enter original data, click the 'Reset' button. Enter the title of the graph, and label the x and y- axis. Select points on the horizontal axis and drag them to the desired location. The data will be reflected on the chart. Click on the button with the squiggly red line to show data in decimal format less than the number one.

Click the 'Quit' button to exit the program.
