Lesson 3 - Comparing Nets and Shapes

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Comparing Nets and Shapes, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Relate nets to prisms and pyramids, and compare prisms and pyramids.

Instructions for Use

Shape and Space lets students observe nets form into pyramids and prisms.

To use Shape and Space, click the 'Unfold' button, and watch the shapes open. To answer the interactive questions, click 'Try Test' and fill in the text fields. Click 'Mark It!' to see your score.

Tetrahedron lets students build a 3-D object from a net.

To use Tetrahedron, click on the 'Cut outs, net' link. Set the pull-down menu to tetrahedron. Move the slider slowly from 0 to 100. Click on the object and drag the left mouse button to rotate it.
