Lesson 5 - Reading and Interpreting Data

 

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Reading and Interpreting Graphs, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Read and interpret graphs and identify their features.

Instructions for Use

Rise and Fall prompts students to read data and plot it on a graph.

To use Rise and Fall, click on the level of difficulty and then the 'Start' icon. Plot a graph of the month-by month rise and fall of the Nile River. Click the 'Check Graph' Button to check the results. To begin again, click the 'Restart' icon.

Gere's Bike Shop is an interactive exercise that helps students to read data and interpret graphs.

To use Interpreting Data, click the "Next" button and follow the directions.

 

Llama Stats allows students to see how spreadsheet data can be organized and displayed.

To use Llama Stats, click on the level of difficulty and then the 'Start' icon. Click on the 'spreadsheet and graphics' button and answer the questions below. Select two columns to plot in a scatter graph. � To begin again, click the 'Restart' icon.
