Lesson 8 - Adding On: Facts with 3 and 6

 

To encourage your child to have fun on the Web while learning about Adding On: Facts with 3 and 6, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Counting and Grouping prompts your child to use addition strategies to multiply.

To use Counting and Grouping, set the " Group By" box to 3 or 6. Set the "Count" box to multiple of either number. Press enter. Click on the ovals that your child wishes to count them. To see the number of ovals, click in the 'numbers' box.

 

Facts about 3 and 6 prompts your child to visualize addition strategies to multiply and divide.

To use Facts about 3 and 6, click "Show Multiple". Click on any number. The multiples will appear in red. Click on a second number and a second set of multiples will appear in blue shaded boxes. Your child has only two chances to select multiples, and then they must select the "Reset" button. If your child clicks the "Remove Multiple" button, all the multiples appear as blank boxes on the grid. The "Remove Multiple" button is not limited to two times. You can remove as many multiples as you like.
