Lesson 4 - Measurement Patterns

 

To encourage your child to have fun on the Web while learning about Measurement Patterns, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or with you.

Instructions for Use

Space Age is an interactive program that calculates your child's age in days and years on other planets. Your child can fill in blank prompts to find out when his or her next birthday will be on other planets.


To use Space Age, students enter the month, date and year of their birth. Click on the "Calculate" button. The age of the student on other worlds will automatically appear in days and years. As well, the date of the student's next birthday on each world is also given. The date given is an "Earth date".

 


Heart Beat is a problem-solving activity that can be shown on a chart.

To use Heart Beat, your child reads and attempts to solve the questions. Click on "Hint" or "Get Started" for additional assistance. Step-by-step answers to the questions are obtained by clicking on the "Answer" link at the bottom of the Web page. Additional questions are available by clicking on the "Try These" link at the bottom of the page.
