Instructions for Use

Bongo Blocks prompts students to model numbers to 1000.

To use Bongo Blocks, click on the one, tens or hundreds buttons to the left of the screen to make an equation appear. Have students drag and drop blocks to make an equation true.

Base Blocks lets students model numbers to 10 000.

To use Base Blocks, click on the blue icons at the top of each column to enter units or blocks. The number of blocks added to the work area automatically updates at the left of the workspace. If base blocks are moved into the wrong column, or if there are too many blocks in a column to represent a number, then the number update at the left remains blank. It reappears when changes are made that define a number.

Exchange pieces by dragging a base block one column to the right; it breaks apart to show that an exchange was made. To group pieces to make an exchange in the other direction, click and hold the mouse key down while dragging a rectangle to lasso the pieces. The newly grouped object can then be dragged into the next column.

Click on the 'Show Problem' button to start an exercise in the specified base.

Place Value lets students model numbers up to the billions.

To use Place Value, type in a number, and click 'Solve'. Click on any of the digits to find the place value. The digit shaded indicates its place value.

Place Value of Six-digit Numbers lets students model 6-digit numbers.

To use Place Value of Six-digit Numbers , click the 'Start' button and a number appears in the text field. Determine the place value for each digit. Click 'Check Answer' to see if your answer is correct.
