Lesson 4 - Describing Congruent Objects

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Describing Congruent Objects, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Congruent Shapes helps students identify and match congruent shapes.

To use Congruent Shapes, input all the letters of the triangles and congruent shapes in the text fields provided. Click the 'Check Answer' button for your results. Be sure to type the letters in ascending order.

 

Building Congruent Figures prompts students to identify and construct congruent shapes.

To use Building Congruent Figures, click on a picture at the bottom of the applet and it will appear in the workspace. To move a piece, click on the piece and drag it to the desired location. To rotate a piece, select it and position the cursor over the shape until a black dot appears at the vertex. Click on the black dot and drag it to rotate. To colour a selected piece, click on a coloured button on the right. To flip the piece, select it, and click on the 'flip' button. To group the pieces, click above the pieces you want to group, hold the mouse button down and drag a box around the pieces. Click on the 'clear' button to clear the space.
