Lesson 4 - Doubling

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Doubling, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Double the Donuts helps students visualize a doubling strategy.

To use Double the Donuts, click on the 'Double It' button to see how the number of donuts increases. Notice the chart at the right of the program to see how quickly the number of donuts double.

 

Archery Doubles helps students multiply using a doubling strategy.

To use Archery Doubles, double the number on the board, and click on the correct part of the target.

 

Doubling a Number helps students visualize the breakdown of multiplication problems and answer them successfully.

To use Doubling a Number, fill in each of the number fields, and then click the 'Check' button until all the number fields are complete. To start a new question, press on 'Do it again?'
