To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Adding
and Subtracting to Compare, here are some games and interactive activities
they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use
The
Addition Subtraction Relationship lets students relate addition to
subtraction.
To use The Addition Subtraction Relationship,
click the ‘Start Addition/Subtraction Relationship’ button
and read the equation in the first text field. Have students click the
button to indicate if the answer is correct.
The
Subtraction Addition Relationship lets students relate subtraction
to addition.
To use The Subtraction Addition
Relationship, click the ‘Start Subtraction/ Addition Relationship’
button and read the equation in the first text field. Have students click
the button to indicate if the answer is correct.
How
Many to Get to 100? prompts students to use mental math to solve an
addition equation.
To use How Many to Get to 100?,
have students input the answers in the text fields. At each text field,
the user is prompted by a question. Input the answer and press ‘Enter’.
After the questions have been answered correctly, note the equations at
the bottom of the screen that show the relationship between the addition
and subtraction equations. Press the ‘Again’ button to begin
a new question.
