Lesson 7 - Collecting Data
To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Collecting Data, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs. GoalCollect data from written and technology sources, and display the data. Builds UponStudent Book pages 72-73 Instructions for UseData Picking prompts students to collect data and select a chart or graph the matches the data. To use Data Picking, click on the level of difficulty and then the 'Start' button. Click on each student and tally the values in the table. Total the numbers. Select a chart or graph that most accurately reflects the data collected.
Collecting Data for the Roman Census is an interactive activity that allows students to collect and organize data. To use Collecting Data for the Roman Census, click on the level of difficulty and then the 'Start' icon. Count the number of people and animals and enter the data. Click on 'next family' to record the data for all the families. Look at the results and answer the Governor's questions. To begin again, click the 'Restart' icon.
