## Lesson 6 - What Number Is It?

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about What Number Is It?, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

### Goal

Compare and order numbers to 100.

### Instructions for Use

Counter Square lets students compare numbers using a 100 chart.

To use Counter Square, click the "Make Counters" button to create multi-coloured counters. Drag and drop them onto the grid to show patterns of the students' choice. Click "Ideas" for suggestions on how to use counters on the grid.

Mending the Number Square lets students describe numbers to 100.

To use Mending the Number Square, drag and drop the missing number on the character to fill in the 100 chart. Click the "Play again" link to fill in different numbers on the chart.

Interactive Number Grid lets students compare numbers to 100.

To use Interactive Number Grid, click on the grid. Numbers are highlighted in yellow. Click the first up arrow to increase the start number on the grid by 1, and click on the down arrow to decrease the start number by 1. Click on the second up arrow to increase the number of columns on the grid, and click on the down arrow to decrease the number of columns on the grid. Click on the third box to show multiples, and adjust the base using the up and down arrows. Click the "Reset" button to start again. Click on the mask button and a small grid pops up. Click in the boxes of the small grid to obscure numbers on the larger grid. Move the mask around the grid by using the pointer arrows.
