  • Quest for the Giant Squid - The Discovery Channel has compiled this fascinating site devoted to the giant squid. Students will particularly enjoy the close-up photographs in the Tentacle Gallery.
  • NOVA Online: Island of the Sharks - This site contains a wealth of information about the sharks that swim in the waters surrounding Cocos Island. Includes underwater videos and a great section titled "Exploding the Myths" that answers frequently-asked questions about sharks.
  • Le Grand Bleu - Students may enjoy "Ocean News", a page set up to look like a newspaper devoted to oceans and the creatures that live in them. The site also features a  Teacher's Resource section with many useful links.
  • Shark Video Cam - This site features a live Shark Video Cam, broadcasting directly from the Giant Ocean Tank exhibit at the New England Aquarium in Boston. (Note: You will need RealPlayer to stream the video.)
  • Baleines du Saint-Laurent - Whales Online. Students can learn about the 13 species of whales in the St. Lawrence, identify different species of whales by their markings in the "Pretend You Are a Scientist" game (in the "Discover" section), read about current events, and more.
  • MICS - Mingan Island Cetacean Study - Learn about the whale research these scientists have been conducting in Quebec and throughout North America.
