Thomson Nelson Named One of Canada’s Best Employers

Results Announced for Canada’s 50 Best Employers 2006 by ROB Magazine and La Presse Newspaper

Toronto CANADA – January 3, 2006 – Thomson Nelson, Canada’s leading educational publisher and part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), is one of the 50 best employers in Canada, according to a list published in the January 2006 issue of Report on Business magazine.

The ROB Magazine’s 50 Best Employers in Canada 2006 list recognizes companies based on results from three annual surveys. The series of surveys include responses from the leadership team, the HR team, as well as feedback via an employee engagement survey.

Thomson Nelson and the other recognized companies were selected as Best Employers based on distinguishing characteristics including inspired leadership, unique company culture, focus on growing talent, strong sense of accountability, and aligned HR practices with excellent execution.
