Purpose To encourage and assist G.E.D. recipients in pursuing a post-secondary education or apprenticeship training. Scholarship Nelson Education will award an annual scholarship of One Thousand Dollars. Field of Study A post-secondary program or apprenticeship of at least one year duration. Location A recognized post-secondary institution or apprenticeship programme in Canada. Eligibility Applicants for the Nelson Education Scholarship will: have a General Educational Development (G.E.D.) high school equivalency certificate/diploma earned in Canada. be a permanent resident of Canada have proof of admission by a post-secondary education/training institution agree to publicity regarding the scholarship award Application The applicant will complete an application form (see below to download your copy) and submit a typed double spaced biography not exceeding four pages that describes his/her background in regard to employment (paid and non-paid), volunteer, and life learning experiences. It should also include reasons for writing the GED tests and plans for post-secondary education/training. The applicant must also submit a copy of their GED test results and GED certificate.
