Sandy Welsh


Sandy Welsh is associate professor of Sociology at the University of Toronto. Her teaching and research interests are in the areas of work, organizations, and gender. Her main area of research focusses on sexual harassment, including an analysis of sexual harassment complaints to the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Recent publications on this topic appear in the Annual Review of Sociology and the Journal of Research on Crime and Delinquency, among others. As part of a community-based research project funded by Status of Women Canada, Professor Welsh is working with the London, Ontario Sexual Assault Centre and the Workers Information and Action Centre of Toronto to collect focus group data on women's experiences with filing sexual harassment complaints. She is also a co-investigator in a SSHRC-funded project about complementary and alternative medicine occupations.
