Jack Haas
Jack Haas is professor emeritus in the Department of
Sociology at McMaster University. He is presently completing a manuscript on the sociology
of addiction and recovery. He is also writing and conducting workshops on meditation,
death, and dying. Professor Haas is a regular volunteer at a Hamilton hospice. His
previous work focussed mainly on socialization and methodology. Jack Haas co-authored New
Society’s Chapter 3: Socialization with William Shaffir.
