Neil Guppy


Neil Guppy is a professor of Sociology and the associate vice-president (Academic Programs) at the University of British Columbia. He is a graduate of Queen’s University (BA/BPHE) and the University of Waterloo (MSc/PhD). He has published several books, including Education in Canada (Statistics Canada, 1998) and Successful Surveys (Harcourt Brace, 1999). His research interests include issues of social inequality, sustainability and the environment, and education. At UBC he has received both a University Killam Teaching Prize and a University Killam research prize. He is the author of Chapter 20: Research Methods in the third edition of New Society.
