Bonnie Fox
Bonnie Fox is associate professor of Sociology at
the University of Toronto. She has been doing research on gender inequality since 1980
focusing especially on women's position in the paid labour force and their unpaid
work in the home. Her most recent research is on the transition to parenthood; it focuses
on how gender differences and inequalities develop in families as couples negotiate the
first year of parenting. She is writing a book on this topic and has just finished a
second edition of her edited book on family and gender, Family Patterns, Gender
Relations. She teaches courses on gender relations at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels.
