Canada’s Digital Collections. This massive site offers an extensive collection of online exhibitions, documents, and resources related to Canada’s history, culture, landscapes, technology, Aboriginal communities, and more. Go to “Subject Index” to view the history offerings, but note that entries classified under other subjects also often contain materials relevant to the study of Canadian history.

Canada History is a site dedicated to collecting, presenting, and disseminating materials related to Canadian history. It contains relevant news articles, information on various historical periods, reproductions of documents and artworks, and materials related to many aspects of life in Canada.

CBC Archives provide a glimpse into events, phenomena, and personalities in Canadian history as heard and seen on CBC radio and television. Audio and video clips are supplemented by summaries that provide context for each event and topic.

Canadian History Portal contains Canadian history resources and timelines from the time of the Confederation to the present.

Heritage Canada. The site of this government department contains online resources and links to other departments and organizations that deal with aspects of Canada’s heritage.

Canadian Constitutional Documents, from The Solon Law Archive. This site offers the full text of selected historical statutes and other documents.

Bill Henderson’s Aboriginal Links. This page provides links to hundreds of useful Canadian and U.S. sites relevant to the study of Aboriginal culture and history.

Consolidated Statutes and Regulations is a complete list of Canadian statutes and regulations currently in place. The documents can be read online in full or searched.

The Supreme Court of Canada. Judgments of the Supreme Court of Canada from 1985 to the present can be browsed or searched.

Internet Modern History Sourcebook. This extensive site offers links to primary sources and websites related to the study of modern history. It also includes links to other related history sourcebooks: ancient, medieval, African, East Asian, Indian, Islamic, Jewish, lesbian and gay, women’s, global, and science.

Culture Canada offers a compendium of links, arranged by topics and province, to websites dealing with Canadian culture, history, and heritage.

Parks Canada site offers historical information on most of the 148 National Historic Sites administered by Parks Canada. Also check out the information under Cultural and Natural Heritage headings.

Canadian Genealogy and History page provides an annotated listing of sites useful for genealogical research across Canada.
