Students can try this activity on their own or in pairs. Goal Build and describe 3-D objects. [CN, PS, V] Instructions for Use Describing 3-D Shapes allows students to build, describe, and compare 3-D objects. To start Describing 3-D Shapes, click on the “Shapes” link (the links are in alphabetical order and you may need to use the “next page” link to find it; around page 11), then click on the “Start the Activity” link. To use Describing 3-D Shapes, click on 3-D Shapes, then on the “Next” button. Click on each shape to look at them in detail. Use the direction keys on the left to rotate the shape in all directions. Note: This activity should be teacher guided and would be very effective on a SMART board.
