Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about 2-D geometry. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

**Goal**

Perform and describe translations and reflections of a 2-D shapes in all four quadrants of a Cartesian coordinate system.

**Instructions for Use**

**Translations Interactive Activity** allows students to practice translations using a simple square.

To begin Translations Interactive Activity, click “Try Some Questions”. You will be shown a grid with one square on it. You must translate the square according to the directions given. You get 50 points for each correct translation.

**MathsNet: Interactive Translation** allows students to practice doing translations.

To start Interactive Translations, read the instructions for the translation. Use dot tool on the left to move the points to their correct positions. You can click the arrow button to go back to your previous step if you make an error, or click the clear button to start over. If you make the correct steps, a message in the window will tell you that you are right.
