**Lesson 3: Using Second-Hand Data **

Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about data relationships. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

Create questions that can be answered using second-hand data.

**Instructions for Use**

**Reading Bar Graphs** allows students to practice interpreting second-hand data presented in graphs, and using that data to answer questions.

Use the second-hand data presented in the graphs to answer the various questions.

**Grapher **allows students to graph information that they have gained from second-hand sources.

Create a question that you can find the answer to by investigating the find second-hand data. Once you have collected your data (from the Internet, newspapers, or books) use the data to construct a bar graph. Don’t forget to include all labels and an appropriate scale.
