Lesson 9: Patterns in a Multiplication Table


Use number patterns in a table to multiply and divide

Instructions for Use

Explore the Multiplication Table  allows students to view patterns in multiplication.

To use Explore the Multiplication Table, click on a number on the left and then click on a number on the top. Click on the equals sign. The problem will be shown as a rectangle. The products of the chosen numbers will also appear along the sides of the grid. Click the “C” in the bottom left corner to change the color of the rectangles.

Multiplication Times Table allows students to test their knowledge of different multiplication facts and patterns.

To Use Multiplication Times Table, click on the “play the game” button for Game 1. On the next screen, click on the “next” button. Choose a level to play – level A includes all the grid numbers and level B has a grid without numbers. Click on level A to start. On the next screen, choose the times tables you would like to practice. You can click on as many numbers as you like. When you have chosen all the numbers you want to practice, click on the “next” button. Choose to play either a timed game or an untimed game by clicking on the option. Follow the instructions on the next screen to start playing. If you need more help, click on the “How to Play” button at the bottom of the screen.
