CHAPTER 8: MEASUREMENTLesson 5: Writing Dates and TimesUse these interactive activities to encourage your child to have fun on the Web while learning about measurement. Goal Write numeric dates and 24-hour times. Builds Upon Student Book pages 272-275 Instructions for Use Stop the Clock 5 allows your child to read and record time using 24-hour clocks. To use Stop the Clock 5, read the instructions on the opening screen and then click on the “Play” button. Drag the five digital times to the correct analogue time. Press “Stop the Clock” the record the time you took. Each clock presents a time using five minute intervals and a 24-hour clock. Only Fools and Horses allows your child to compare analog and digital times using the 24-hour clock. To play Only Fools and Horses, click on the “Play the Game” button. This will bring up another screen. If the new screen does not open, please check the settings on your internet browser to allow pop-ups. Click on the “How to Play” suitcase and read the instructions. When you are ready to play, click on the “Play” suitcase. Choose to either play a timed or untimed game by clicking on the option you prefer. On the next screen, choose the level you would like to play – either Level A, Level B or Level C. Click “Start” on the next screen and choose whether the times in the suitcases match (“snap”) or not (“do not snap”). The times are presented in 24-hour format and 12-hour format. Try to beat the clock! |
