**Builds Upon**

Student Book pages 6–7

**Instructions for Use**

Meet Paul Pattern has students compare a pattern to other patterns and identify which of the patterns follows the same rule. This activity reviews repeating patterns from Grade 2, but it will help students to think about representing patterns in different ways.

Look at the pattern at the top of the screen. Click the pattern below that shows the same pattern in a different way.

How Does My Pattern Grow? allows students to continue increasing shape patterns.

Move the shapes at the bottom of the screen and place them in the correct spot on the last flower to continue the pattern. Write the number pattern that each shape pattern represents on a piece of paper. Describe how the pattern grows to a partner.
