**Lesson 2: Estimating Lengths**

**Goal**

Estimate and measure lengths in centimetres.

**Instructions for Use**

Length Strength: Centimetres has you estimate, then measure objects.

Estimate the length of the object and enter the number into the light green box. You may then wish to drag the ruler beneath the object to measure it and change your estimate, if desired. Click “Check” to check your answer, then click on the blue arrow to continue to the next problem.

Estimating Metric Length asks you to estimate the lengths of lines, then measure them with a centimetre ruler. Note that 1 dm means 10 cm.

Click “Measure” at the bottom right of the screen to start. Estimate how many centimetres long the line is and enter it in the white “Length” box. Drag the ruler below the line to check your estimate, then press “Enter” to check your answer. Click “New Problem” to try another problem.
