**Lesson 1: Using a Ruler **

**Goal**

Measure lengths with a centimetre ruler.

**Instructions for Use**

Estimating Metric Length asks you to measure lines with a centimetre ruler. Note that 1 dm means 10 cm.

Click “Measure” at the bottom right of the screen to start. Drag the ruler to measure the line above. Enter the number of centimetres you measure in the white “Length” box, then press “Enter.” Click “New Problem” to try another problem.

Measure It! has you measure lines using a centimetre ruler.

Read the ruler to find out how long the red line is, then click on the correct answer below. If you select an incorrect answer, click “Next Question” to continue.
