## CHAPTER 4: DATA RELATIONSHIPS

**Lesson 5: Using Bar Graphs **

**Goal**

Answer questions about data using bar graphs.

**Instructions for Use**

Bugs in the System has you organize data into a bar graph by clearing different rooms of bugs. Then you answer questions about the data by comparing bar graphs. Note that you may need help with understanding the different scales of the graphs.

Click “Instructions” to read how to play the game, then click “Play.” Click on each floating bug and drag it into the column with the same colour beneath it. When all the bugs have been caught, click “OK” to go to the next room. After cleaning 3 rooms of bugs, read the question below the graphs and click the room number to the right to answer the question.

Animal Island Data asks you questions about data shown on bar graphs.

Click the “Hard” level, then click “Play” to begin. Look at the clipboard for the animal’s name in red, then read the bar graph to find out how many of that animal there are. Select that number from the blue text at the top of the clipboard. When complete, click “Play Again” to repeat a different problem for the same level.
